Basically single people are second class citizens in this world. They don't fit in anywhere because the world church especially is all about couples and families. As much as churches act like being single is a blessing it is nothing but a curse. Church people talk about bringing you in and trying to win your heart to Jesus but at the same time ignore singles and act like they don't exist. You also make no effort to include singles in church activities or leadership roles because you think that because we're alone that were not worthy. Because were not married we are left out and not invited to activities that couples would invite each other to.

This week of sharing the experience your week in Nicaragua has been such an eye opener for me reading from the comfort of my home. What continues to come to mind is how can we help people right here in NY who don't have. I feel the work in Nicaragua can set the stage for both young and old at DHEFC to truly live out "love your neighbor as yourself" by reaching out to schools,foster homes,churches in Huntington, NYC bouroughs all of LOng Island. Thank you team nicaragua and thank you Lord for opening my heart to appreciating EVERYTHING I have. From the shoes on my feet to the pillow I know will be there waiting to rest my head on each night because there are so many who can't say the same.... Thanks for the updates. Wow, things sound like they are going great! Praise God! I'm praying for you all, especially my prayer partners from Wednesday night, Stacey and Steve, and the Wightman family! II love reading all about your experiences in Nicaragua. Bud and I have been there a few times and we love the people - So open to His love. We remember Lake Nicaragua, too. I'm praying for all of you as you share your lives with these precious people, and that your world-vision will be broadened through His eyes & heart. Can't sleep so I'm up praying for you all and for Joe Mincone (and others too). Here's my prayer for the day or in my case night: I Thessalonians 3:10-13 Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith. (Or maybe for you to fill the gaps in ours with what you all are learning). May God our Father and our Lord Jesus bring you to us soon. And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. May he, as a result, make your hearts STRONG, blameless, and holy as you stand before God our Father when our Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people. Amen. Praying for God's love to flow thru you to each other and those you are blessing and for you to have strength! Glad you had a fun and hopefully refreshing day. I am reading your comments at Camp Spofford and really appreciate such immediate feed back. I noted some wonderful words like 'encouage". " contentment" and "praying together". Oh yes. I forgot laughing together", that's essential.. I have your pictures and praying too. i know there have been some changes. from the original team. God is faithful to His Word.

I'm teary eyed as I finished reading all your comments. I just forwarded them to Marianna, Nicole, and Rebecca Dauth who are at camp Cedarbrook this week so they could be a part of your experience and pray for your all too. It's such a blessing to be a part of this from home. Sally, I'm with you, I wish we could all be there, but in a way we are. Ken and everyone. It is three am here and i woke up and asked god to " show up" which instantly made me realize I hadn't read today's nicaraguas report!! God is smiling down on you all !! We r praying for a hedge of protection around each and every one of you and that you would all have the stamina to keep moving forward. Being able to hear and see pictures daily gives us all hope in everything we are experiencing in each of our own lives that our God is truly an awesome God !!!!
